Nearly a century old, this rare antique 1920's original "HUI O PELE" lapel tie screw-back pin for the Society of Pele (organized in 1923) was designed to honor the myth of the volcano goddess Pele. Pin is strikingly detailed with red lava that catches the light and illuminates beautifully. Manufactured by Whitehead & Hoag company (marked New Jersey), a prominent pinback and badge maker of the late 1800's and going into the early 1900's.
Measurements shown in photos. In good shape for age with only normal signs of age and wear. Been in storage for a long time. Hard-to-find item perfect for display in a collection; see photos!
