Vintage 1971 Springbok Bookcase Puzzles Leaves Of Autumn And Patterns 350 Pcs

This auction is for a vintage Springbok Jigsaw Puzzle set. From 1971 it is titled “Springbok Bookcase Puzzles: Leaves of Autumn and Patterns”. This unique set has a box that resembles a hardback book, with the title on the binding. The front and back “covers” have the pictures of the puzzles. When opened, the left side has the title and a quote from naturalist John Muir. On the right side are the two spots for the smaller boxes that hold the puzzle pieces. The Patterns puzzle has not been opened- still in its plastic bag (blue backing) Leaves of Autumn has been opened and unfortunately some pieces are missing (red backing). It is a challenging puzzle, for only having 350 pieces, and I do not know if the seemingly unlimited small pieces are actually the ones I consider missing. I was able to put a good amount together but then decided to just describe it “as is”. Beautiful puzzles and very challenging for the small number of pieces. A unique item! The box is in very good condition for its age- a bit of wear on corners but still in very good shape. Inside a bit of a stain/sticker residue- please see photos- a great set!
