    Description

Two rare or at least hard to find jigsaw puzzles from 1933.  Each box measures 7 1/4" x 7 1/4" x 1", and indicates on the cover "Movie Cut-ups - A weekly puzzle of your favorite movie stars in coming attractions.  On sale every Tuesday for 25 cents".  The pieces are non-interlocking and quite small, a bit of a plus for the challenge-seeker!  The puzzles were made at 9 Howley Street, Peabody, Mass. and the boxes also include the original telephone number.
    Puzzle No. 6 "Air Hostess"
featuring Evalyn Knapp, a Columbia picture (1933).  This puzzle has 306 pieces present, 3 pieces missing.  Measures 10" x 13 1/4" when assembled.
Puzzle No. 7 "Bitter Tea of General Yen"
starring Barbara Stanwyck and Nils Asther, a Columbia picture (1933).  This puzzle has 284 pieces present, 1 piece missing.  Measures 9 3/4" x 13 1/4" when assembled.
In addition to the missing pieces, some pieces have some wear.  Puzzle No. 7 has writing on the inside cover (see picture 5), and both boxes show some wear.
